Who Else Writes Like...?
The library has a copy of Who Else Writes Like...? a readers' guide to fiction authors. It has over 1,800 authors listed and under each name there is a short list of other authors who write in a similar style or who approach a subject in a comparable way. The book is designes to answer the question "I've read all the books by 'someone' who else writes like that?"

The Courier Mail's Big Book Club
March 2007 Selection is "The Unknown Terrorist" by Richard Flanagan.

The Big Book Club is open to everyone! There are no joining fees and it’s up to you as to whether your register or not. You can participate when and how you wish. Closing Hours

The Blackwater Library will be closed from 5pm Friday 22nd December 2006 and will reopen 9am Monday 8th January 2007. All items borrowed at the end of December will be due on the 9th of January. The library has three internet computers for public use. There is a standard charge of $1.50 per hour or part thereof (eg. if you use the internet for 15min the charge will be $1.50).

Books Alive

Pick up a 2006 Books Alive Great Read Guide at the library this month. The guide includes 50 books from crime and thrillers to travel and biographies and makes choosing a great book easier. The kids aren't left out with a Children's Edition also available.
